DTC P1545-63: Starter Exceed Limited Number [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STARTER OPERATION #) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Starter Operation #.

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Starter Operation #
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
      Result Proceed to
      384000 or more
      (Displays 1000000 or more)*
      A
      Below 384000 B

      HINT: 

      *: If "Starter Operation #" displays 1000000 or more, it is necessary to replace the engine stop and start ECU as there is an internal malfunction in the ECU.

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK.  Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ] .

    Result: 

    Go to next step 

  2. REPLACE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the starter assembly

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      HINT: 

      • When the starter assembly is replaced, "ST relay" and "ST NO. 2 relay" must be also replaced.
      • If "Starter Operation #" displays 1000000 or more, the engine stop and start ECU must also be replaced.

        Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      • Clear the number of starter operations by performing "Starter Exchange" using the Techstream.

        Refer to REGISTRATION [11/2016 - ]

    Result:
