Registration [11/2016 - ]: Procedure
- ECU EXCHANGE NOTE:
- When replacing the engine stop and start ECU with a new one, make sure to download the previous status (number of starter operations) of the old engine stop and start ECU. After replacing the engine stop and start ECU, upload the number of starter operations to the new engine stop and start ECU using the Techstream.
- When the engine stop and start ECU is replaced, check the oil pump with solenoid assembly.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / ECU Exchange.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility
Tester Display ECU Exchange - According to the Techstream display, download the previous status (the number of starter operations) from the old engine stop and start ECU to the Techstream.
- Replace the engine stop and start ECU.
Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]
- According to the Techstream display, upload the previous status (the number of starter operations) from the Techstream to the new engine stop and start ECU.
- CLEAR NUMBER OF STARTER OPERATIONS NOTE:
- After the starter assembly is replaced, be sure to clear the number of starter operations stored in the engine stop and start ECU.
- When the starter assembly is replaced, "ST relay" and "ST NO. 2 relay" must be also replaced.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Starter Exchange.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility
Tester Display Starter Exchange - Following the prompts on the Techstream display, clear the number of starter operations.
- RESET AIR CONDITIONING INFORMATION NOTE:
After replacing the engine stop and start ECU or air conditioning amplifier assembly, initialization of the air conditioning information in the engine stop and start ECU is necessary.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Reset A/C Information.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility
Tester Display Reset A/C Information - Following the prompts on the Techstream display, clear the A/C information.
- LEARNING AIR CONDITIONING INFORMATION
HINT:
When initialization of the air conditioning information is complete, air conditioning information learning is automatically performed. If the learning cannot be performed properly, inspect the CAN communication system.
- CLEAR THE ZERO POINT CALIBRATION DATA NOTE:
- After replacing the engine stop and start ECU or airbag sensor assembly, perform deceleration sensor zero point clear and calibration.
- Once the zero point is stored, it cannot be overwritten until the data is cleared. Be sure to perform zero point clear and calibration after replacing the airbag sensor assembly.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Move the shift lever to P and apply the parking brake.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
HINT:
Do not start the engine.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Clear.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility
Tester Display Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Clear NOTE:When the deceleration sensor zero point is cleared, the system information stored in the engine stop and start ECU is also cleared. If the vehicle is driven for 5 seconds or more at 3 km/h (2 mph) or more in this condition, the engine stop and start ECU will store DTC P158954 and blink the stop and start cancel indicator.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF THE DECELERATION SENSOR NOTE:
Park the vehicle on a level surface (grade: +/-1%). Do not shake the vehicle or open/close any of the doors during zero point calibration. To avoid vibration caused by the engine idling, do not start the engine.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Check that the shift lever is in P.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
HINT:
Do not start the engine.
- Check that the parking brake is applied.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility
Tester Display Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration HINT:
If DTC P158954 is stored, the stop and start cancel indicator will blink.
- While keeping the vehicle stationary, follow the prompts on the Techstream screen. Check that "Complete" is displayed on the Techstream screen.NOTE:
If zero point calibration fails, perform the registration procedure again from "CLEAR THE ZERO POINT CALIBRATION DATA".
- CLEAR THE INTEGRATED CURRENT VALUE
HINT:
After charging or replacing the battery, perform the integrated current value initialization.
If the Data List item "Integrated Current" indicates 0 Asec or more, initialization is not necessary.
- SWITCH BATTERY TYPE NOTE:
When the ECM is replaced on a vehicle with a non-specified battery, it is necessary to perform battery type switching.
- Check whether the battery is specified or not specified.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
HINT:
Do not start the engine.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Battery Type.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display Battery Type HINT:
Check the battery type (Specified/Other) stored by the ECM.
- If the battery installed does not match the battery stored by the ECM, switch to the battery type for the installed battery.
- CHECK OIL PUMP WITH SOLENOID ASSEMBLY NOTE:
When the oil pump with solenoid assembly or engine stop and start ECU is replaced, perform the "Electromagnetic Oil Pump" Active Test.
HINT:
This check is one of the final inspection items performed before returning the vehicle to the customer.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Move the shift lever to P.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Perform the "Electromagnetic Oil Pump" Active Test for 2 seconds.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Active Test / Electromagnetic Oil Pump.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Active Test
Tester Display Electromagnetic Oil Pump - Check that the "Stop&Start Operating Permission (Electromagnetic Oil Pump)" Data List item is listed as "OK".
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Stop&Start Operating Permission (Electromagnetic Oil Pump).
