Removal [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 

    See step  3

  4. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 4 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
  5. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 3 exhaust pipe damper from the tail exhaust pipe assembly.

  6. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs to disconnect the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust pipe support.
    3. Remove the gasket from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
  7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.

    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (for Bank 1) connector.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly and exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    4. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1) 
    1. Remove the wire harness clamp bracket from the heated oxygen sensor (for Bank 1).

    2. Using SST, remove the heated oxygen sensor (for Bank 1) from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
      • SST: 09224-00012 
      NOTE:

      If the heated oxygen sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for Lower Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Lower Side).

  10. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (for Bank 2) connector.
    3. Remove the 2 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    4. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
  11. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
