DTC B2251: Back Door Closer Switch Malfunction [12/2013 - ]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Data List.
- Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List
Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Courtesy SW Back door courtesy switch signal ON or OFF ON: Back door open
OFF: Back door closed- Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List
Tester Display Courtesy SW OK
On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
- Remove the back door lock assembly.
Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]
- Inspect the back door lock assembly.
Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

- Remove the back door lock assembly.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the X19 back door lock assembly connector.
- Disconnect the X6 multiplex network door ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition X19-3 (CTY) - X6-19 (FUL) Always Below 1 Ω X19-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω X19-3 (CTY) or X6-19 (FUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
