Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction [08/2013 - 12/2013]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Occupant Detection / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      OCCUPANT DETECTION (OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Passenger Buckle SW Front passenger buckle switch/Set, Unset or NG Set: Seat belt fastened
      Unset: Seat belt not fastened
      NG: Data is not determined      		 -
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Unset or Set is displayed on the Techstream screen according to the front passenger seat belt condition A
      Unset or Set is not displayed normally on the Techstream screen according to the front passenger seat belt condition
      (for Manual Seat)      		 B
      Unset or Set is not displayed normally on the Techstream screen according to the front passenger seat belt condition
      (for Power Seat)      		 C
      NG is displayed on the Techstream screen D

    A: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      SRS AIRBAG (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

      Right side Buckle SW RH buckle switch/Unset, Set or NG Unset: Seat belt is not fastened
      Set: Seat belt is fastened
      NG: Data is not determined      		 -

      Unset or Set is displayed on the Techstream screen according to the front passenger seat belt condition A
      • Unset or Set is not displayed normally on the Techstream screen according to the front passenger seat belt condition
      • NG is displayed on the Techstream screen

  5. GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ] 
  6. GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ] 
  7. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - 12/2013] 
  8. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  9. REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  10. REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  11. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
