Front Door Courtesy Switch Circuit [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

      FR Door Courtesy Front door courtesy light switch RH signal/ON or OFF ON: Front door RH closed
      OFF: Front door RH open

      FL Door Courtesy Front door courtesy light switch LH signal/ON or OFF ON: Front door LH closed
      OFF: Front door LH open
      -

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      Front door courtesy light switch LH or RH does not operate B

    B → See step   2

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (LH OR RH) 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Inspect the front door courtesy light switch assembly. Refer to INSPECTION [08/2013 - ] .

      OK

      Front door courtesy light switch assembly is normal.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (for Front LH) A
      OK (for Front RH) B
      NG C

    B → See step   5 

    C → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N7 front door courtesy light switch assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N7-1 - 3C-15 Always Below 1 Ω
      N7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3C-15 - MB-2 (FLCY) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → See step   8 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the I13 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O10 front door courtesy light switch assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the J2 courtesy light assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O10-1 - I13-19 (FRCY) Always Below 1 Ω
      O10-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   8 

  6. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  7. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2013 - 12/2013]  
  8. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  9. REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
