Main Switch Illumination Circuit [10/2013 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL)
- Disconnect the D118 upper console panel sub-assembly connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D118-3 (ILL+) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the D118 upper console panel sub-assembly connector.
- Disconnect the D9 combination meter assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D118-8 (ILL-) - D9-4 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω D118-8 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the D118 and A upper console panel sub-assembly connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D118-3 (ILL+) - A-10 (ILL+) Always Below 1 Ω D118-8 (ILL-) - A-9 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component without harness connected

- Disconnect the D118 and A upper console panel sub-assembly connectors.
- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2013 - ]
- REPLACE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ]
