Illumination Circuit [10/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Cent Console Spot LGT Front console lights ON/OFF -

      OK

      Front console lights come on.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   5 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOME FUSE - FRONT CONSOLE LIGHTS) 
    1. Disconnect the D13 No. 1 interior illumination light assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D14 console box light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D13-2 (+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      D14-2 (ILL+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONSOLE LIGHTS - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the D5 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D13-1 (-) - D5-20 (CSPT) Always Below 1 Ω
      D14-1 (ILL-) - D5-20 (CSPT) Always Below 1 Ω
      D5-20 (CSPT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] 
  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2013 - ]
