TC and CG Terminal Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Check if the CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC OF DLC3 - TC OF ECM AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D16-13 (TC) - A39-16 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      D16-13 (TC) - Body Ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG OF DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D16-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC OF DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D16-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  5. REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  6. REPLACE 4WD CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
