AWD Warning Light does not Come ON: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTC is not output A
      CAN communication system DTC is output B

      HINT: 

      When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system before repairing each corresponding sensor.

    B → See step   3 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT AWD WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Check that the AWD warning light comes on.

      OK

      AWD warning light comes on.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  4. REPLACE 4WD CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  5. GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
