DTC B2226: PBD Unit Pulse Sensor LH Circuit [12/2012 - 10/2015]: Procedure

1. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2012 - ]

   Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs 

2. Check for DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2012 - ]

   Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Proceed to
   DTC B2226 is not output
   DTC B2226 is output

Result:  1

DTC B2226 is not output 

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 11/2013]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2013 - 10/2015]

DTC B2226 is output 

See step  2

1. Disconnect the U18 multiplex network door ECU connector.
2. Disconnect the U21 power back door unit assembly set LH connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   U18-11 (DSG) - U21-4 (DSG)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   U18-12 (DSV) - U21-3 (DSV)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   U18-22 (DS2) - U21-6 (DS2)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   U18-23 (DS1) - U21-5 (DS1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   U18-11 (DSG) or U21-4 (DSG) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   U18-12 (DSV) or U21-3 (DSV) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   U18-22 (DS2) or U21-6 (DS2) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   U18-23 (DS1) or U21-5 (DS1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   U21-6 (DS2) - Body ground	Always	7 V or higher
   U21-3 (DSV) - Body ground	Always	7 V or higher

1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform of each terminal from the rear of the multiplex network door ECU U18 connector.

   Measurement Condition

   Item	Condition
   Tester connection	CH1 : U18-23 (DS1) - Body ground CH2 : U18-22 (DS2) - Body ground
   Tool setting	2 V/DIV., 2 ms./DIV.
   Vehicle condition	Open and close the back door by hand.

   HINT: 

   The period changes in accordance to the speed at which the back door is opened and closed by hand.

   OK

   The waveform displayed is as shown in the illustration.
