Installation [12/2012 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Place wooden blocks or plate lift attachments on an engine lifter, and then set the rear suspension member sub-assembly so that the attachments are in the positions shown in the illustration.

      *a Attachment Placement Positions
      NOTE:
      • Place the wooden blocks or plate lift attachments so that the rear suspension member sub-assembly is level.
      • As the rear suspension member sub-assembly is very heavy, be sure to support it securely.
    2. Install the rear suspension member and 2 rear upper body mounting cushions with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 125 N*m (1275 kgf*cm, 92 ft.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2012 - 11/2013] Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2013 - ]

  4. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2012 - ]

  5. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Temporarily install the upper control arm to the rear suspension member with the bolt and nut.
  6. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  1

  8. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR LH 

    See step  2

  10. INSTALL REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  11. INSTALL REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR LH 

    See step  1

  12. INSTALL REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING LH 

    See step  3

  14. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING RH

  15. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  2

  16. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  17. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the rear axle carrier to the rear upper control arm with the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 90 N*m (918 kgf*cm, 66 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Since a stopper nut is used, tighten the bolt.

  18. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  19. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  1

  20. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  21. CONNECT REAR TRAILING ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the rear trailing arm to the rear axle carrier with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 200 N*m (2039 kgf*cm, 148 ft.*lbf) 

  22. CONNECT REAR TRAILING ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  23. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR 

    See step  2

  24. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

  25. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  26. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE LH

  28. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER LH (w/ Cover)

  30. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD)

  31. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY RH (for 2WD)

  32. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD)

  35. INSTALL REAR DISC

  36. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  37. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  38. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2012 - ]

  39. CONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  40. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH (for 2WD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2012 - 08/2016] Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2016 - ]

  41. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE RH (for 2WD) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  42. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (for AWD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2012 - ]

  43. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR RH (for AWD) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  44. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for AWD)

  46. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

  55. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  56. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2012 - 08/2017] Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2017 - ]

  57. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
