- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) See step 1
B → GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM) Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
A: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - BATTERY SMART UNIT) NOTE:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair procedures, because this may cause a malfunction.
- Remove the No. 1 hybrid vehicle battery carrier bracket sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 25 .
- Disconnect only the c1 connector of the battery smart unit.
- Disconnect the c4 battery current sensor connector from the hybrid battery junction block assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the tables below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

(to Hybrid Battery Junction Block Assembly) - Connect the battery smart unit connector.
- Connect the battery current sensor connector to the hybrid battery junction block assembly.
Install the No. 1 hybrid vehicle battery carrier bracket sub-assembly.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT (VIB VOLTAGE) NOTE:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair procedures, because this may cause a malfunction.
- Remove the No. 1 hybrid vehicle battery carrier bracket sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 25 .
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(Battery Smart Unit)NOTE:Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
- Turn the power switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Install the No. 1 hybrid vehicle battery carrier bracket sub-assembly.
NG → See step 6
OK: Go to next step

- CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:

- Remove the No. 1 hybrid vehicle battery carrier bracket sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 25 .

- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
