DTC B1635/24: Rear Airbag Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Interchange the rear airbag sensor RH with the rear airbag sensor LH and connect the connectors to them.
    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    5. Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    6. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    7. Turn the ignition switch off.
    8. Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    9. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs B1630/23 and B1635/24 are not output. A
      DTC B1635/24 is output. B
      DTC B1630/23 is output. C

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTCs B1630/23 and B1635/24 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

  2. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  3. REPLACE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
