Main Switch Illumination Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL) 
    1. Disconnect the D118 mobile wireless charger cradle assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D118-3 (ILL+) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MOBILE WIRELESS CHARGER CRADLE ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D118 mobile wireless charger cradle assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D9 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D118-8 (ILL-) - D9-4 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D118-8 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT MOBILE WIRELESS CHARGER CRADLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the D118 and A mobile wireless charger cradle assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D118-3 (ILL+) - A-10 (ILL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D118-8 (ILL-) - A-9 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Mobile Wireless Charger Cradle Assembly)

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  5. REPLACE MOBILE WIRELESS CHARGER CRADLE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
