DTC B2341: Sensor (Motor) Failure; DTC B2344: Position Failure: Procedure

  1. CHECK SLIDING ROOF OPERATION 
    1. Check the sliding roof auto operation. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      OK

      Auto operation operates normally.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTCs.

      OK

      DTC B2341 or B2344 is not output.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → See step   9 

  3. INITIALIZE SLIDING ROOF ECU (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Check that the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) can be initialized. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

      OK

      Sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) can be initialized.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTCs.

      OK

      DTC B2341 or B2344 is not output.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → END (PROBLEM DUE TO INITIALIZATION FAILURE) 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - SLIDING ROOF SWITCH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N6 sliding roof switch (roof console box assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the N4 sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N4-5 (CLS) - N6-2 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      N4-5 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N4-7 (OPN) - N6-3 (OPN) Always Below 1 Ω
      N4-7 (OPN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N4-6 (DWN) - N6-4 (DOWN) Always Below 1 Ω
      N4-6 (DWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N4-4 (UP) - N6-5 (UP) Always Below 1 Ω
      N4-4 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N6-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      N4-12 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF SWITCH (ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the sliding roof switch (roof console box assembly). Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (UP) - 1 (GND) UP switch is pressed Below 1 Ω
      5 (UP) - 1 (GND) UP switch is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (DOWN) - 1 (GND) DOWN switch is pressed Below 1 Ω
      4 (DOWN) - 1 (GND) DOWN switch is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (OPN) - 1 (GND) OPEN switch is pressed Below 1 Ω
      3 (OPN) - 1 (GND) OPEN switch is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (CLS) - 1 (GND) CLOSE switch is pressed Below 1 Ω
      2 (CLS) - 1 (GND) CLOSE switch is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → See step   7 

  7. REPLACE SLIDING ROOF ECU (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  8. REPLACE SLIDING ROOF SWITCH (ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
