Front Passenger Side Seat Heater does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B14C0 is not output A
      DTC B14C0 is output B

    B → See step   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R11 seat heater control sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R11-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R11-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the front seat cushion heater assembly RH. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Inspect the front seat cushion heater assembly RH. Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the front seatback heater assembly RH. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Inspect the front seatback heater assembly RH. Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   14 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT REFRESHING SEAT SWITCH 
    1. Remove the refreshing seat switch. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Inspect the refreshing seat switch. Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   13 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REFRESHING SEAT SWITCH - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D63 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D63-19 (SVPS) - D39-1 (RVR) Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-7 (SG-5) - D39-4 (SW-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-9 (S5-2) - D39-6 (SW+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-19 (SVPS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D63-7 (SG-5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D63-9 (S5-2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the D62 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D62-39 (SHP+) - R11-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-3 (TSR) - R11-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-8 (SG-6) - R11-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      D62-39 (SHP+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D63-3 (TSR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D63-8 (SG-6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. REPLACE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Replace the seat heater control sub-assembly RH. Refer to DISASSEMBLY .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK FRONT SEAT HEATER OPERATION 
    1. Check that the front seat heater. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      OK

      The front seat heater operates normally.

    NG → See step   12 

    OK → END (SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  10. GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  11. REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  13. REPLACE REFRESHING SEAT SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  14. REPLACE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL
