DTC B14C1: Front Left Seat Heat Sensor Circuit: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      DTC B14C1 is not output.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   7 

  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the front seat cushion heater assembly LH. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Inspect the front seat cushion heater assembly LH. Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the D63 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D63-4 (TSL) - S12-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-23 (SGND) - S12-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      D63-4 (TSL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D63-23 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. REPLACE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Replace the seat heater control sub-assembly LH. Refer to DISASSEMBLY .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FRONT SEAT HEATER OPERATION 
    1. Check that the front seat heater. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      OK

      The front seat heater operates normally.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END (SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  7. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  8. REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
