Speaker Circuit: Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the E1 and E2 radio and display receiver assembly connectors.
- Disconnect the E11 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch).
- Disconnect the D47 and D1 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
- Disconnect the F6 and G6 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
- Disconnect the H3 and I3 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
- Disconnect the K13 and K16 rear speaker assembly connectors.
- Measure the resistance between the radio and display receiver assembly and the DCM (telematics transceiver) to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch).
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E1-1 (FR+) - E11-2 (SPI+) Always Below 1 Ω E1-5 (FR-) - E11-3 (SPI-) Always Below 1 Ω - Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly RH and the DCM (telematics transceiver) to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch).
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E11-5 (SPO+) - D47-4 (TWR+) Always Below 1 Ω E11-6 (SPO-) - D47-2 (TWR-) Always Below 1 Ω - Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly RH and the radio and display receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/o Manual (SOS) Switch).

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E2-1 (RR+) - H3-4 Always Below 1 Ω E2-3 (RR-) - H3-2 Always Below 1 Ω E2-2 (RL+) - I3-4 Always Below 1 Ω E2-6 (RL-) - I3-2 Always Below 1 Ω - Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the radio and display receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E2-1 (RR+) - K13-1 Always Below 1 Ω E2-3 (RR-) - K13-2 Always Below 1 Ω E2-2 (RL+) - K16-1 Always Below 1 Ω E2-6 (RL-) - K16-2 Always Below 1 Ω - Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D47-4 (TWR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher D47-2 (TWR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher D1-4 (TWL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher D1-2 (TWL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
- Check that the malfunction disappears when a known good speaker is installed. Refer to REMOVAL

HINT:
- Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker assemblies that were disconnected.
- When there is a possibility that either the right or left speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
- Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.

OK → END (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)
- Check that the malfunction disappears when a known good speaker is installed. Refer to REMOVAL

- INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
