Seat Position Sensor: Installation: Installation

WARNING:

Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .

INSTALL SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR
1. Install the seat slide position sensor protector with the pin as shown in the illustration.

INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Manual Seat)

Using a 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) feeler gauge, temporarily install the seat position sensor.

NOTE:

If the seat position sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one.
When installing the seat position sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with and is not pinched between other parts.

HINT:

Be sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and seat rail is between 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.) and 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).

Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the screw to install the seat position sensor.
Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and seat rail is between 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.) and 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).
Install the wire harness to the seat slide position sensor protector.
Connect the connector.
Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the seat position sensor.

INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Manual Seat) . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 24
INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Manual Seat) . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 25
INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (for Manual Seat) . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 26

INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Power Seat)

Using a 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) feeler gauge, temporarily install the seat position sensor.

INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD (for Power Seat) . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 31
INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat) . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

Torque: 5.4 N*m (54 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
Refer to PRECAUTION
