Shift Lever: Installation: Installation

  1. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in N position.

    2. Rotate the transmission control cable nut counterclockwise approximately 270° and, while holding the nut in that position, press in the stopper until it makes 2 "click" sounds.

    3. Push the lock piece up from the back side of the adjuster case while pinching the claws on the lock piece.

    4. Connect the cable outer of the transmission control cable onto the shift lever retainer, check that the position of the spring is the same as A shown in the illustration, and press in the stopper.

      HINT: 

      If the stopper cannot be pressed in, slightly rotate the nut clockwise and then press in the stopper.

    5. Connect the transmission control cable end to the shift lever.

      *1 Lock Piece
      NOTE:

      Check that the lock piece is pulled up.

  2. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the shift lever with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector and transmission control switch wire connector.
    3. Press in and lock the lock piece to the adjuster case.

      NOTE:
      • Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in N position.
      • Securely press in the lock piece until the lock engages.
  3. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 13
  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 18
  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 19
  6. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  7. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT COVER (w/ Console Box)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  8. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT COVER (w/o Console Box)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 16
  9. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Type) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  10. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Slide Type) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  11. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  12. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  13. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 33
  14. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  15. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 24
  16. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 35
  17. INSTALL KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
