Engine Coolant Temperature Receiver Gauge Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WATER TEMPERATURE METER OPERATION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.COMBINATION METER
Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Water Temperature Meter Operation Engine coolant temperature receiver gauge LOW, NORMAL, HIGH Operate with IG ON and the vehicle is stopped. OK
Engine coolant temperature receiver gauge indication is normal.

OK: Go to next step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COOLANT TEMPERATURE)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.COMBINATION METER
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Coolant Temperature Engine coolant temperature/
Min.: 0°C (32°F), Max.: 127.5°C (261.5°F)80 to 100°C (176 to 212°F); After warming up - OK
Engine coolant temperature value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the engine coolant temperature receiver gauge indication.

- CHECK ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM
- Check if a engine control DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR
for 2GR-FE. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

- GO TO SFI SYSTEM (for 2GR-FE). Refer to REMOVAL
- GO TO SFI SYSTEM (for 1AR-FE). Refer to REMOVAL
