Seat Heater Switch: Inspection: Inspection

  1. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH 
    1. Inspect the driver side seat heater switch operation.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
        9 (IG) - 7 (RV) OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        9 (IG) - 7 (RV) ON Below 1 Ω
        3 (SW) - 7 (RV) ON (Minimum to Maximum) 0.35 to 3.4 kΩ
        TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

        *a Component without harness connected
        (Seat Heater Switch)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

      2. Turn the seat heater switch on and check if the seat heater switch indicator comes on.

        OK

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 9 (IG)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E)
        Comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    2. Inspect the front passenger side seat heater switch operation.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
        7 (IG) - 5 (RV) OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        7 (IG) - 5 (RV) ON Below 1 Ω
        2 (SW) - 5 (RV) ON (Minimum to Maximum) 0.35 to 3.4 kΩ
        TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

        *a Component without harness connected
        (Seat Heater Switch)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

      2. Turn the seat heater switch on and check if the seat heater switch indicator comes on.

        OK

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 7 (IG)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E)
        Comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    3. Check the illumination operation.

      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch and check that the illumination comes on.

        OK

        DRIVER SIDE

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 8 (ILL+)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (ILL-)
        Illumination comes on
        FRONT PASSENGER SIDE

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 6 (ILL+)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (ILL-)
        Illumination comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.
