Mute Signal Circuit between Disc Player Changer and Television Display Assembly: Procedure

  1. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the U1 television display assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U1-4 (MUT1) - Body ground Turn the ignition switch to ACC, disc player assembly is playing → Changing modes 3.5 V or higher → Below 1 V

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Television Display Assembly)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   3 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VIDEO TERMINAL - TELEVISION DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect the D70 disc player assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the U1 television display assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D70-6 (MUT2) - U1-4 (MUT1) Always Below 1 Ω
      D70-6 (MUT2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  4. REPLACE DISC PLAYER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
