Speaker Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK SPEAKER 
    1. Check the malfunctioning speakers.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Malfunction in front speaker area A
      Malfunction in rear speaker area B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FRONT SIDE SPEAKER 
    1. Check the malfunctioning speakers.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Front No. 2 speaker assembly A
      Front No. 1 speaker assembly B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the D81 and/or D10 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      for RH 

      for LH 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (+) - 2 (TWR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (-) - 4 (TWR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (TWR+) - 4 (TWR-) Always Approximately 4.0 Ω
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (+) - 2 (TWL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (-) - 4 (TWL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (TWL+) - 4 (TWL-) Always Approximately 4.0 Ω

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D57 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D81 and/or D10 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open (RH Side))

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D57-1 (FR+) - D81-2 (TWR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D57-5 (FR-) - D81-4 (TWR-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short (RH Side))

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D57-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D57-5 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open (LH Side))

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D57-2 (FL+) - D10-2 (TWL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D57-6 (FL-) - D10-4 (TWL-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short (LH Side))

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D57-2 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D57-6 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   10 

  5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the G8 and/or H6 front No. 1 speaker assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Approximately 4.0 Ω

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D81 and/or D10 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G8 and/or H6 front No. 1 speaker assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open (RH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D81-1 (+) - G8-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D81-3 (-) - G8-2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short (RH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D81-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D81-3 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open (LH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D10-1 (+) - H6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D10-3 (-) - H6-2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short (LH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D10-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D10-3 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   12 

  7. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the L16 and K10 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Approximately 4.0 Ω

      (Rear Speaker Assembly)

    NG → See step   13 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D62 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the L16 and/or K10 rear speaker assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open (RH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D62-1 (RR+) - L16-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D62-3 (RR-) - L16-2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short (RH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D62-1 (RR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D62-3 (RR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open (LH Side)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D62-2 (RL+) - K10-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D62-6 (RL-) - K10-2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short (LH Side)

      D62-2 (RL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D62-6 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  11. REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  13. REPLACE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  14. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
