Reverse Signal Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (DISPLAY CHECK MODE) 
    1. Enter the "Display Check" mode and select "Vehicle Signal Check Mode". Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

    2. Check that the display changes between ON and OFF according to the shift lever operation.

      OK

      Shift Lever Position Display
      R ON
      Except R OFF

      HINT: 

      This display is updated once per second. As a result, it is normal for the display to lag behind the actual shift lever operation.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   6 

  2. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D55-5 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch ON, shift lever in any position except R Below 1 V

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   5 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D55 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B3 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B3-2 (RL) - D55-5 (REV) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B3-2 (RL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the B3 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (RL) - 1 (RB) Ignition switch ACC, shift lever in R Below 1 Ω
      Ignition switch ACC, shift lever in any position except R 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT: 

      Replace park/neutral position switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  7. REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
