DTC B1561: XM Tuner Disconnected (Command Line); DTC B159F: No Response from XM Tuner: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Check for optional components
      1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.
        RESULT

        Result Proceed to
        Optional components (including associated wiring) are installed. A
        Optional components (including associated wiring) are not installed. B

      HINT: 

      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

    B → See step   3 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
      NOTE:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → END (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY IS FAULTY) 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the L20 stereo component tuner assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L20-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L20-12 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      L20-11 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the L20 stereo component tuner assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D67 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L20-9 (TX+) - D67-4 (TX2+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L20-10 (TX-) - D67-5 (TX2-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L20-9 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L20-10 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D59 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D66 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-9 (TXM+) - D66-9 (TX1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D59-10 (TXM-) - D66-10 (TX1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D59-9 (TXM+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D59-10 (TXM-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the stereo component tuner assembly with new or normally one. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → END (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY IS FAULTY) 

  8. REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU 
    1. Temporarily replace the multi-media interface ECU with new or normally one. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU IS FAULTY) 

  9. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
