Reverse Signal Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (DISPLAY CHECK MODE) 
    1. Enter the "Display Check" mode and select "Vehicle Signal Check". Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

    2. Check that the display changes between ON and OFF according to the shift lever operation.

      OK

      Shift Lever Position Display
      R ON
      Except R OFF

      HINT: 

      This display is updated once per second. As a result, it is normal for the display to lag behind the actual shift lever operation.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   5 

  2. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D55-5 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON
      Shift lever in R
      11 to 14 V
      D55-5 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON
      Shift lever in any position except R
      Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component with harness connected
      (Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   6 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the D55 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B3 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D55-5 (REV) - B3-2 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      D55-5 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the B3 park/neutral position switch assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (RL) - 1 (RB) Shift lever in R Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever in P 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Park/Neutral Position Switch Assembly)

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  6. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  7. REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
