Mute Signal Circuit Between Stereo Component Amplifier And Telematics Transceiver: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D73-17 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, audio system is playing → Emergency call mode Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component with harness connected
      (Telematics Transceiver)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   4 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Disconnect the L5 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D73 telematics transceiver connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L5-24 (TMUT) - D73-17 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω
      L5-24 (TMUT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the L5 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L5-24 (TMUT) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 3.5 V or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly)

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   5 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  5. REPLACE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
