Daytime Running Light Relay Circuit: Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
- Check that the relay operates.MAIN BODY

Relay operates. (Daytime running lights illuminate.)

- CHECK HEADLIGHT
- Check the operation of the high beam headlights.
OK
High beam headlights operate normally.

OK: Go to next step
- Check the operation of the high beam headlights.
- INSPECT RUNNING LIGHT RELAY
- Remove the running light relay from the engine room relay block.
- Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6(+B).
- Connect a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 2(DRLS).
- Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RUNNING LIGHT RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
- Remove the running light relay from the engine room relay block assembly.
- Disconnect the 2F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (DRLS) - 2F-13 Always Below 1 Ω 2F-13 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
- Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2F-13 - 2I-25 (DRL) Always Below 1 Ω 2F-13 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component without harness connected

- GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE RUNNING LIGHT RELAY. Refer to REMOVAL
- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
