DTC C0-40: Antenna not Connected; DTC C0-41: Antenna Shorted: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION 
    1. Check that the satellite radio antenna cord sub-assembly is securely connected to the radio receiver assembly connector.

      OK

      Satellite radio antenna cord sub-assembly is securely connected.

    NG → RECONNECT CONNECTOR CORRECTLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. SYSTEM CHECK 
    1. Check the vehicle specifications.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      w/o Safety Connect System A
      w/ Safety Connect System B

    B → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY AND NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly (radio receiver assembly side) connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly (satellite antenna assembly side) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SATELLITE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Radio Receiver Assembly)
      *2 Front view of No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connector
      (to Satellite Antenna Assembly)

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the satellite radio antenna assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always 45 to 55 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Satellite Antenna Assembly)

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → See step   10 

  5. CHECK ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly (radio receiver assembly side) connector.

    2. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly (satellite antenna assembly side) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      (to Radio Receiver Assembly)
      *2 Front view of antenna cord sub-assembly connector
      (to No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-Assembly)

    NG → See step   11 

    OK → See step   12 

  6. CHECK ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY AND NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly (radio receiver assembly side) connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly (satellite antenna assembly side) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SATELLITE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 - 2a Always Below 1 Ω
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the satellite radio antenna assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 - 2a Always 45 to 55 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → See step   10 

  8. CHECK ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly (radio receiver assembly side) connector.

    2. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly (satellite antenna assembly side) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 - 2a Always Below 1 Ω
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. REPLACE SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  11. REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. REPLACE NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
