DTC P3147-239: Transmission Malfunction; DTC P3147-241: Transmission Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE AND ECT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to SFI system DTCs are not output. A SFI system DTCs are output. B - Turn the power switch off.
B → See step 10

- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to DTCs other than P3147-239 or P3147-241 are not output. A DTC P3147-240 or P3147-242 is also output. B DTC P0A1D is also output. C - Turn the power switch off.

C → See step 12
A: Go to next step
- CHECK CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REVOLUTION (PARK (P) SELECTED)
- Turn the power switch off.
- Push the P position switch and lift up the vehicle.
- Turn the crankshaft pulley using hand tools to check if the crankshaft can rotate smoothly.WARNING:
Do not turn the power switch on (READY) while performing this inspection. Be sure to turn the power switch off before performing this inspection, to prevent the engine from starting.
NOTE:Engine compression causes resistance when turning the crankshaft pulley. Check if the crankshaft rotates smoothly (or if it is locked) by manually applying sufficient torque to turn the crankshaft pulley. The torque required to turn the crankshaft pulley should be the same as for a known good vehicle of the same type.
Result
Result Proceed to The crankshaft rotates. A The crankshaft does not rotate. B
B → See step 9
A: Go to next step
- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Turn the power switch off.

- CHECK ENGINE RACING. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
NG → See step 11
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CREEP MOVEMENT
- Depress the brake pedal, move the shift lever to D, and release the brake pedal.
OK
The wheels turn (the vehicle creeps forward).
HINT:
If the wheels do not turn and the reading on the Techstream shows DTC P3147-239, replace the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.
NG → See step 11
