DTC P3000-388: HV Battery Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to P3000-388 or P3000-389 only is output. A DTCs other than P3000-388, P3000-389, and P0AF8 are also output. B - Turn the power switch off.

- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE AND ECT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to NO DTCs are output. A DTCs are output. B - Turn the power switch off.

- CHECK AMOUNT OF GASOLINE
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Check the amount of fuel by referring to the fuel gauge in the meter.
Result
Result Proceed to Proper amount of fuel is in the tank. A There is no fuel in the tank. B HINT:
Add fuel until the low fuel level warning light turns off.
- Turn the power switch off.
B → REFUEL VEHICLE
A: Go to next step
- CHECK ENGINE START
- Turn the power switch on (READY).
- Check if the engine starts.
HINT:
- Depressing the accelerator pedal with the park (P) selected will cause the engine to start.
- Turning the power switch on (READY) and off repeatedly while the SOC is low may cause the SOC to drop further, resulting in DTC P3000-389 being set. Charge the HV battery using the THS charger as necessary.
- Cranking the engine once causes the SOC to drop approximately 1%.
- Charging the HV battery once (10 minutes) using the THS charger restores the SOC approximately 2%.
Result
Result Proceed to The engine starts. A The engine does not start. B - If the engine does not start, turn the power switch off.

- GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
- CHARGE HV BATTERY (CHECK THAT ENGINE STARTS). Refer to CHARGING
- GO TO DTC CHART (SFI SYSTEM). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
