Speedometer Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SPEED METER OPERATION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- Check the operation by referring to the table below.COMBINATION METER

- CHECK BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM
- Check if the brake control system output the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FR/FL/RR/RL WHEEL SPEED, VEHICLE SPEED METER)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus:
- for ABS/VSC/TRAC: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.
- for Combination Meter: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
- Check the values by referring to the table below.ABS/VSC/TRAC

When the Data List values of the ECUs match, an internal malfunction of the combination meter assembly is suspected.

When the Data List values of the ECUs do not match, a signal output error of the skid control ECU or an internal malfunction of the combination meter assembly is suspected.

- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE)
- Replace the meter circuit plate with a new or a known good one. Refer to DISASSEMBLY

- GO TO BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to DTC C1271/71: Low Output Signal of Front Speed Sensor RH (Test Mode DTC); DTC C1272/72: Low Output Signal of Front Speed Sensor LH (Test Mode DTC); DTC C1464/31: Front Speed Sensor RH Circuit; DTC C1465/32: Front Speed Sensor LH Circuit
- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
