DTC B1451/51: Compressor Solenoid Circuit: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn Techstream main switch on.
- Select the items below in the Data List, and read the value displayed on Techstream.DATA LIST / AIR CONDITIONER

- INSPECT COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH
- Disconnect the compressor and magnetic clutch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B65-2 (SOL+) - B65-1 (SOL-) 25°C (77°F) 10.1 to 11.1 Ω
NG → See step 11
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)
- Disconnect the B65 compressor and magnetic clutch connector.

- Disconnect the D37 amplifier connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B65-2 (SOL+) - D37-2 (SOL+) Always Below 1 Ω B65-2 (SOL+) - Body Ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- Disconnect the B65 compressor and magnetic clutch connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the B65 compressor and magnetic clutch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B65-1 (SOL-) - Body Ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 10
- INSPECT COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY
- Disconnect the compressor assembly with pulley connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B65-2 (SOL+) - B65-1 (SOL-) 25°C (77°F) 10.1 to 11.1 Ω
NG → See step 12
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY - A/C AMPLIFIER)
- Disconnect the compressor assembly with pulley connector.
- Disconnect the A/C amplifier connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D37-2 (SOL+) - B65-2 (SOL+) Always Below 1 Ω D37-2 (SOL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the compressor assembly with pulley connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B65-1 (SOL-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 10
- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
- REPLACE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY. Refer to REMOVAL
