DTC B1449/49: Rear Air Outlet Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn Techstream main switch on.
    3. Select the items below in the Data List, and read the value displayed on Techstream.

      The display is as specified in the normal condition column.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER) 
    1. Disconnect the N12 rear air conditioning harness connector.

    2. Disconnect the D38 amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N12-2 (RBUG) - D38-21 (RBUG) Always Below 1 Ω
      N12-3 (RBUS) - D38-1 (RBUS) Always Below 1 Ω
      N12-4 (RBBU) - D38-23 (RBBU) Always Below 1 Ω
      D38-21 (RBUG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D38-1 (RBUS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D38-23 (RBBU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE REAR AIR OUTLET CONTROL SERVO MOTOR 
    1. Replace the rear air outlet control servo motor. Refer to REMOVAL .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  5. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 6 
  6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      DTC B1449/49 is not output.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE REAR AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS 

    OK → END (REAR AIR OUTLET CONTROL SERVO MOTOR IS DEFECTIVE)
