DTC B1422/22: Compressor Lock Sensor Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Use Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      OK

      CAN DTC is not output

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER 
    1. Remove the air conditioning amplifier. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6 with the connectors still connected.

    2. Measure the waveform of the connector.

  3. INSPECT COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (A/C LOCK SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the air conditioning compressor.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B66-1 (SSR+) - B66-2 (SSR-) 20°C (68°F) 160 to 320 Ω

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - A/C LOCK SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the air conditioning amplifier.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D37-8 (LOCK) - B66-1 (SSR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D37-13 (SG-2) - B66-2 (SSR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D37-8 (LOCK) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D37-13 (SG-2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   7 

  5. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  6. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  7. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 6 
  8. REPLACE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (A/C LOCK SENSOR). Refer to  REMOVAL
