DTC P3107-213: Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction: Procedure

- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to Airbag system DTCs are not output. A Airbag system DTCs are output. B - Turn the ignition switch off.

- CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
- Connect an oscilloscope between the center airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
NEXT: Go to next step
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to DTC P3107-213 is not output. A DTC P3107-213 is output. B - Turn the ignition switch off.

- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
- Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA

- CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the D30 connector from the center airbag sensor assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition D30-14 (GSW2) - D30-25 (E1) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component without harness connected
(Center Airbag Sensor Assembly) - Connect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.
NG → See step 9
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the D30 connector from the center airbag sensor assembly.
- Disconnect the D72 connector from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition D72-29 (ABFS) or D30-14 (GSW2) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher - Connect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.
- Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 8
- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
- GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
