DTC P2532-772: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    6. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Leave the vehicle for 15 seconds or more with the ignition switch ON after clearing DTCs.

      HINT: 

      Leaving the vehicle for 15 seconds or more is required to detect DTC U0140-146.

    2. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    3. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      U0140-146 is not output but P2532-772 is output. A
      U0140-146 and P2532-772 are output. B
      Only DTCs other than U0140-146 and P2532-772 are output. C
      No DTC is output. D
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.

    C → See step   15 

    D → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FUSE (ECU IG NO. 1) 
    1. Remove the ECU IG NO. 1 fuse from the instrument panel junction block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      ECU IG NO. 1 fuse Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Instrument Panel Junction Block
      *2 ECU IG NO. 1 Fuse
    3. Install the ECU IG NO. 1 fuse.

    NG → REPLACE FUSE (ECU IG NO. 1) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 
    1. Disconnect connector 1A from the instrument panel junction block.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1A-1 - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

      (to Instrument Panel Junction Block)
    3. Connect the instrument panel junction block connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the 1A and 1F connectors from the instrument panel junction block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1F-10 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Instrument Panel Junction Block)
    3. Connect the instrument panel junction block connectors.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (MAIN BODY ECU) 

  6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Leave the vehicle for 1.5 seconds or more.

      HINT: 

      Leaving the vehicle for 1.5 seconds or more is required to detect DTC P2532-772.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P2532-772 is output. A
      P2532-772 is not output. B

    B → See step   16 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect connector A66 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A66-1 (IGSW) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    4. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → See step   8 

  8. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. CHECK RELAY (IG2) 
    1. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block.

      *1 Engine Room Relay Block
      *2 IG2 Relay
    2. Disconnect connector A66 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A66-1 (IGSW) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    4. Install the IG2 relay.
    5. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK RELAY (IG2) 
    1. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always 130 to 235 Ω
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2. 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2. Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (w/ Smart Key System) A
      OK (w/o Smart Key System) B
      NG C
    3. Install the IG2 relay.

    B → See step   12 

    C → REPLACE RELAY (IG2) 

    A: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect connector D7 from the instrument panel junction block.

      *1 Instrument Panel Junction Block
      (Main Body ECU)
    2. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      IG2 relay terminal 1 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      *a Component without IG2 relay connected
      (to Engine Room Relay Block)
    4. Connect the instrument panel junction block connector.
    5. Install the IG2 relay.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (MAIN BODY ECU) 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition switch assembly connector.

    2. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      IG2 relay terminal 1 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      *a Component without IG2 relay connected
      (to Engine Room Relay Block)
    4. Connect the ignition switch assembly connector.
    5. Install the IG2 relay.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   13 

  13. REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  14. GO TO DTC CHART (U0140-146). Refer to  DTC U0129-220: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-222: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-527: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-528: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0140-146: Lost Communication with Body Control Module; DTC U0151-763: Lost Communication with Airbag ECU; DTC U0164-594: Lost Communication with A/C ECU; DTC U0164-827: Lost Communication with A/C ECU  
  15. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  16. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
