DTC P0AE6-225: Hybrid Battery Precharge Contactor Control Circuit Low; DTC P0AE7-224: Hybrid Battery Precharge Contactor Control Circuit High: Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK)
- Disconnect connector D72 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition D72-3 (SMRP) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Rear view of wire harness connector
(to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)NOTE:Turning the ignition switch to ON with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition D72-3 (SMRP) - Body ground Ignition switch off 141 to 212 Ω - Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
NG → See step 3
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
- Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

Result Proceed to Malfunction does not occur. A Malfunction occurs. B

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Remove the battery cover sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Disconnect connector z20 from the hybrid battery junction block assembly.
- Disconnect connector D72 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.NOTE:
Turning the ignition switch to ON with the hybrid vehicle control ECU and hybrid battery junction block assembly connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Connect the hybrid battery junction block assembly connector.
- Install the battery cover sub-assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.

- Install the battery cover sub-assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 5
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- REPLACE HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
