Pattern Select Switch Circuit: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)
HINT:
ECUs that are correctly connected to the CAN communication system can be displayed on the Techstream.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.
Result
Result Proceed to All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed (w/ Smart Key System). B None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed (w/o Smart Key System). C

- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ALL DTC CODE)
- Check for DTCs of all systems by following the prompts on the Techstream screen.
Result
Result Proceed to No DTCs are output. A DTCs other than hybrid control system DTCs are output. B

- Check for DTCs of all systems by following the prompts on the Techstream screen.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (METER)
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. ECO.
- Check the condition of the pattern select indicator light (ECON mode light) by operating the Techstream.OK:

Result Proceed to The ECON mode light comes on. A The ECON mode light does not come on. B

- CHECK PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECON MODE SWITCH)
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the pattern select switch assembly (ECON mode switch) connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (2ND) - 6 (E) ECON mode switch on Below 1 Ω 9 (2ND) - 6 (E) ECON mode switch off 10 kΩ or higher TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component without harness connected

NG → REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECON MODE SWITCH)
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
- Connect the pattern select switch assembly connector.
- Disconnect connector D73 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
