DTC P0617-142: Starter Relay Circuit High: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connections of all hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      OK

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK IF VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH SMART KEY SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the vehicle is equipped with the smart key system.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      w/ Smart Key System A
      w/o Smart Key System B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (MAIN BODY ECU CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connection of the main body ECU D10 connector.

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Instrument Panel Junction Block
      (Main Body ECU)

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ST2 TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A66-10 (ST2) - Body ground Power switch On (ACC) Below 1 V

      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   5 

  5. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect connector D10 from the instrument panel junction block (main body ECU).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A66-10 (ST2) - Body ground Power switch On (ACC) Below 1 V

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    3. Connect the instrument panel junction block (main body ECU) connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK 

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connection of the ignition switch connector.

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ST2 TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A66-10 (ST2) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC Below 1 V

    NG → See step   10 

    OK → See step   9 

  9. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - IGNITION SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Connect the ignition switch connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  11. REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
