Spiral Cable: Removal: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  2. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  6. REMOVE STEERING PAD  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 18
  9. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
  10. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws and 2 pins, and remove the spiral cable from the steering angle sensor.
