- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Read output DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Remove the battery cover. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the O46 connector from the battery cooling blower assembly (No. 1).
- Remove the BATT FAN relay.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Remove the battery cover. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the O46 connector from the battery cooling blower assembly (No. 1).
- Disconnect the z21 connector from the battery smart unit.

- Replace the battery cooling blower assembly (malfunctioning battery cooling blower assembly). Refer to REMOVAL .
