DTC P0A7F-123: Hybrid Battery Pack Deterioration: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC P0AFC-123 IS OUTPUT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read output DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      P0AFC-123 is not output. A
      P0AFC-123 is also output. B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT 
    1. Ensure the safety of the areas in front and at the back of the vehicle.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Battery Block Vol-V01 to 15.
    5. Fully warm up the engine and turn the air conditioning off.
    6. Firmly depress the brake pedal with your left foot.
    7. Move the shift lever to D.
    8. Record each battery block voltage from the data list (Battery Block Vol-V01 to 15) while fully depressing the accelerator pedal.
    9. Compare the battery block voltages (Battery Block Vol-V01 to 14) between the even and odd number groups in each combination shown in the table below.

      Battery Block Vol-V03 Battery Block Vol-V04 V03 - V04

      Battery Block Vol-V09 Battery Block Vol-V10 V09 - V10
      Battery Block Vol-V11 Battery Block Vol-V12 V11 - V12
      Battery Block Vol-V13 Battery Block Vol-V14 V13 - V14
      Battery Block Vol-V15 - V15 - V13
      Battery Block Vol-V13

      HINT: 

      Compare the V15 battery block voltage with the V13 battery block voltage.

    10. Check that the difference in voltage of each combination is 0.3 V or more.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Difference in voltage of each combination is 0.3 V or more. A
      Other than above B

      HINT: 

      Difference in voltage of each combination is 0.3 V or more due to a battery smart unit internal error.

  3. REPLACE HV BATTERY ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  5. GO TO DTC P0AFC-123. Refer to  DTC P0AFC-123: Hybrid Battery Pack Sensor Module
