DTC C2191/91: Vehicle Speed Signal Error (Test Mode DTC): Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus:

      "Bus Check" from the "System Select" / "Communication Malfunction DTC" from the "Bus Check" screen

    5. Check the CAN communication system. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
    4. Check for DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN system DTC is not output A
      CAN system DTC is output w/ Smart Key System B
      w/o Smart Key System C

    B → See step   5 

    C → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
    5. Check that the values indicated on the Techstream and on the combination meter are the same.

      Tire Pressure Monitor

      Vehicle Speed Vehicle speed reading/
      min.: 0 km/h (0 mph)
      max.: 255 km/h (158 mph)
      Actual vehicle speed Speed indicated on the combination meter

      OK

      The vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  5. CHECK AND REPLACE CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  6. GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. CHECK AND REPLACE CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
