Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Removal: Removal

  1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
  2. REMOVE NO. 4 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 2
  3. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 5 hooks.

    3. Disengage the 5 hooks and remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.

      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Remove the clamp and instrument panel wire assembly from the front passenger airbag assembly.
