Rear Air Conditioning Control Panel Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R1 control connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R1-10 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R1-10 (E) - R1-2 (IG+) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D38 amplifier connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D38-13 (RLIN) - R1-5 (MPX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D38-13 (RLIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. REPLACE REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the rear air conditioning control assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. CHECK REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) 
    1. Reconnect the D38 amplifier connector.
    2. Operate the rear air conditioning control assembly to check that it functions properly.

      OK

      Rear air conditioning control assembly function operates normally.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → END (REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
