Parking Brake Pedal: Removal: Removal

WARNING:

Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing the parking brake pedal. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  1. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Seat) 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat) 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL - Step 24

  8. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  9. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 

    Refer to REMOVAL - Step 31

  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT 
    1. Turn back the front floor carpet assembly.
    2. Remove the clip and the rear No. 2 air duct.

  12. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT 
    1. Detach the wire harness clamp.

    2. Remove the rear No. 1 air duct.
  13. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST 
    1. Detach the 2 clips to remove the front floor footrest.

  14. LOOSEN ADJUSTING NUT 
    1. Remove the lock nut and loosen the adjusting nut.

  15. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER 

    Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1

  16. REMOVE REAR ENGINE SERVICE COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2

  17. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

  18. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  19. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER 
    1. Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the parking brake equalizer from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

  20. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL - Step 61

  21. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and disconnect the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Remove the clamp.
    3. Pull out the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly toward the cabin.

    4. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    5. Detach the 2 clamps to disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    6. Remove the 3 nuts and the parking brake control pedal assembly.
