Warning Buzzer does not Sound: Procedure

  1. CHECK BUZZER (SEAT BELT, KEY REMINDER) 
    1. Check that the seat belt and key reminder buzzers sound.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound (Driver side) A
      Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound (Passenger side) B
      Key reminder warning buzzer does not sound C
      No warning buzzers sound D

      HINT: 

      • Seat belt warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is ON, driver or front passenger seat belt is unfastened, and vehicle speed is 20 km/h (12.4 mph) or more.
      • Key reminder warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is OFF, key is in ignition key cylinder, and driver side door is open.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE) 
    1. Disconnect the L19 front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (+) - 4 (E) Tongue plate fastened 10 k Ω or higher
      3 (+) - 4 (E) Tongue plate unfastened Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly (Driver Side))
    3. Reconnect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E13 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the L19 front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E13-8 (L) - L19-3 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L19 front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L19-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      (to Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly (Driver Side))
    3. Reconnect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   11 

  5. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a CAN communication DTC is output.Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication DTC is not output A
      CAN communication DTC is output B

    B → See step   12 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a supplemental restraint DTC is output.Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Supplemental restraint DTC is not output A
      Supplemental restraint DTC is output B

    B → See step   13 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a occupant classification DTC is output.Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Occupant classification DTC is not output A
      Occupant classification DTC is output B

  8. GO TO KEY REMINDER WARNING SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  9. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  11. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  13. GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  14. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  15. GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
